Ntropic brought me on early in the pitch process for a massive yearly conference held by Tencent. This years theme was the Pale Blue Dot by Carl Sagan. Truly a fitting thematic guiding light in the year 2020. Exemplifying the need to work together to protect our singular home in the vastness of the universe. The conference featured a selection of world leading scientists giving lectures on everything from Theoretical Physics and Quantum Supremacy to Chimaera Organ research and the possibilities of life on Venus.
We were tasked with creating over 2 hours of custom content to be presented in a Virtual representation of the Tencent conferences normal physical venue.
Pitch
Initial Pitch frames exploring the ideas of space exploration. We wanted to create a vibrant future retro inspired visual language.
zoom Tesseract
One of the many challenges of this Virtual conference involved the need to present Zoom footage in an engaging way. We created these cubic glass containers eventually dubbed “The Tesseract” to present both the zoom footage and presentation slides.
Speaker animations
Each scientist needed custom content for the virtual venue stage screen. With each speech lasting on average 20 mins and a resolution of 8k, we had to be efficient in our content creation approach. We harnessed various procedural tools in both Cinema4d, XParticles and Houdini to create thematic looping background content as well as Hero CG moments.
